🐉 Overview: The Rampart of Wyrms
Crowning the northeastern horizon of the Yin-Sloth Jungles, the Dragon’s Gate Mountains rise like an impassable spine of jagged granite and mist-shrouded volcanic crags. Towering thousands of feet above the surrounding jungle canopy, these peaks form the absolute geographic and military boundary separating the wild Northern Freelands from the civilized territories of the Commonwealth of Yin-Sloth Kingdoms and the southern Orcish Empire.
The range takes its fabled name from its most extraordinary inhabitants: the highest concentration of dragons in the known Megaverse. Deep within the highest cloud-veiled valleys lies Dragonedara, a sacred mountain-city where hundreds of true dragons—from ancient Gold and Red wyrms to Thunder Lizards and Horned Drakes—congregate under the ancient laws of the Dragonwright faith.
Yet Dragon’s Gate is far more than a sanctuary for wyrms. Beneath its rocky peaks honeycombs Kadera, a vast and thriving subterranean kingdom of master Kobold smiths who mint the gold coinage of the Orcish Empire. Along its lower foothills stands Castle Deltor and the haven of Regalda, founded by religious exiles from the human realms. And at its southern base stretches The Valley of Skulls—a grisly, mile-wide river of ancient bones marking the bloodiest slaughter of the prehistoric Battle of Gods.

The mountains possess a unique ecology shaped by extreme altitude, subterranean rivers, and dragon-magic:
- Dragonedara (The City of Wyrms): Situated in a high alpine plateau near the loftiest peak of the chain. While the lower town features simple stone storehouses and granaries tended by humanoid lay-worshippers, the upper terraces consist of colossal stone perches, open-air cyclopean amphitheaters, and the Grand Temple of Dragonwright. Here, hundreds of dragons rest side by side in sacred truce, listening to the decrees of high dragon-priests. The truce is absolute: open violence between dragons in Dragonedara brings the immediate, terrifying wrath of Styphon the Black.
- Kadera (The Kobold City): A breathtaking subterranean metropolis hollowed out of immense limestone caverns deep within the mountain’s roots. Fed by a thundering subterranean waterfall, Kadera is home to over twelve thousand skilled Kobolds. Steadfast allies of Emperor Doragon, Kadera’s metallurgists smelt rich iron and copper veins, forge masterwork armor for the Orcish Legions, and strike the empire’s official stamped coinage.
- The Valley of Skulls: A grim, desiccated canyon at the southern base of the mountains where the ground is literally buried beneath a continuous, one-foot-deep carpet of fossilized humanoid and monster skeletons. Here, 90,000 years ago during the Battle of Gods, millions of ancient warriors were tricked into slaughter by Zandragal and Kirgi the Deceiver. The valley is shrouded in unnatural twilight, haunted by howling spectres and skeletal guardians.
- Regalda & Castle Deltor: Foothill settlements of refuge. Regalda was established by ten thousand human dissidents banished into the jungle by the Western Empire; aided by friendly Avians and mountain elves, they struck rich veins of pure silver and built a thriving, self-sufficient mountain enclave. Castle Deltor was founded by a deposed Timro baron who fled religious execution for worshipping the dragon-gods.
⛪ The Church of Dragonwright
The Dragon’s Gate Mountains serve as the spiritual Vatican of Dragonwright, an ancient faith dating back to the primordial dawn of Eraedal:

📜 The Tri-System Synthesis: Dragon’s Gate Canon
1. The Physical Shell (Palladium Canon)
- Sourced directly from Palladium Fantasy RPG Book 07: Yin-Sloth Jungles (2E) (pages 65–70, 118–121) and Book 01: Dragons & Gods (2E).
- Preserves the geography of the Dragon’s Gate Mountains, the city of Dragonedara, the subterranean kobold realm of Kadera, the Valley of Skulls, and the political alliances with Emperor Doragon’s Orcish Empire.
2. The Ancient Bones (Praemal / Ptolus Lore)
- The Crucible of the Battle of Gods: The Valley of Skulls marks an open metaphysical scar where primordial dragon-gods clashed with the entities that bound the Galchutt / Old Ones.
- Reality is fragile across Dragon’s Gate: deep caverns beneath Kadera connect to ancient pre-cataclysmic ley line nexuses. Dragons congregate in Dragonedara not merely out of faith, but to anchor the cosmic dragon-lines that prevent deep planar fissures from opening beneath the southern continent.
3. The Active Pulse (Pathfinder 2e Remaster)
- Draconic Mechanics: Dragons follow Pathfinder 2e Remaster age categories, breath weapons, and draconic spellcasting.
- Divine Domains: Dragonwright clerics and champions select from the Wyrmkin, Destruction, Protection, Wealth, and Zeal domains.
- Subterranean Kobold Culture: Modeled on PF2e Kobold ancestry rules with strong artisan, sapper, and draconic-heritage feats.
